A Little Bit More About Counselling
There are many different types and approaches to counselling and psychotherapy.
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor which may not mean an an awful lot to most people so I thought I'd share with you what that means and what training I have had.
At the heart of almost all types of counselling is Person Centred Theory (PCT), founded by Carl Rogers. It is considered the foundation of all counselling. In my experience, and from the counselling that I previously had, PCT counselling was not enough on its own. In addition to PCT, my integrative qualification included training in:
Gestalt Theory:
Psychodynamic Theory:
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Theory):
In addition to these I have studied in:
Logotherapy: established by Victor Frankl following his survival from Aushwitz

So How Does It Work?
We can arrange a free of charge telephone call to talk through why you feel you would like therapy, and if you would like to continue, we can arrange to meet face to face or via zoom for a one off session, fixed number of sessions or open ended.
The relationship is key. Talking to someone about your very deep thoughts and fears can be a challenging experience for some, so it is important you choose the right person to do that with.
From my side, I am looking to see if I am the right therapist for your needs, and if I'm not, I can help you find the right person.

Should you decide that you would like therapy, then we will arrange dates and times going forward.

How Much Does It Cost?
Initial individual assessment: telephone - free of charge / face to face or zoom for 30 minutes £20.
Counselling sessions for Individuals is £65.00 (50 minutes per therapeutic session).
Counselling sessions for couples is £120.00 for 60-75 minutes. Both parties will need to be included in all correspondence and sessions are face to face only.
Trauma specific sessions using the REWIND Technique £80. Minimum of 2 sessions.
