Baby Naming Ceremonies ∞ Welcome your Special One to their New World in Style
A naming ceremony is very special event where friends and family gather together to celebrate and welcome your new baby to the family and community. It is predominantly a non-religious ceremony although religious content can be incorporated. There is no legal aspect to this type of ceremony and can be held wherever you like. Ceremonies can be held at a venue of your choice and is totally unique and bespoke to you and your family. It can be in your home, in the garden, in a park, in the woods, at a hotel or at your local community centre.
As a trained celebrant, I am able to give you guidance and write the service for you or simply MC the ceremony in the celebratory style you require. I can spend time getting to know you and your family so I can conduct a ceremony which is personal and meaningful and discuss promises, readings, poems, rituals and music you might like.
During the ceremony, parents state their love and commitment to their child, acknowledge the role of family and friends, and declare hopes for their child's future. Ceremonies can be combined with symbolic actions that have meaning to the family, such as sand ceremonies, tree-planting, candle-lighting, or hand or foot-printing.
Celebrations may vary in length from 20 minutes to an all-day celebration. Naming ceremonies are suitable for babies, toddlers, older children, adopted children and stepchildren.
