INDEPENDENT CELEBRANT
Creating Meaningful Memories
Funerals at Burial Grounds ∞ Crematoriums ∞ Internment of Ashes
Celebration of Life ∞ Commemorative Events (religious and non-religious)
The day you say goodbye to your loved one is one of the most important days of your life. It would be my honour to work with you and put together a memorable service where you get the time to grieve in a safe space, share memories and then say goodbye, and the way in which you do it, is entirely up to you.

As for the type service, the traditional restrictions are no longer necessary, so take a few moments and have a think about what would make it special for you and your loved ones. I have shared below a typical format that can be adapted to be unique to you and your family. From my part, I am here to listen, guide and support you through the whole service from beginning to end.

It is normal practice to ask your Funeral Director for them to find you a Celebrant, or use their local contacts, but if you want to choose your own then please get in touch.
What to Expect
Step One
Either you contact me directly or I am approached by the funeral directors and we sort out diaries to ensure the dates are agreeable. We arrange a date and time for us to speak so I can listen to how you would like the service to be. I would allow an hour and a half for us to talk through everything that you would like on the day and this can be face to face, via zoom or on the telephone.

Step Two
At the meeting we discuss the type of service you would ideally like. Not everyone knows what this looks like so I can email you Order of Service examples so you can see what might be included. Other questions to think about are:
* would you like the service to be religious or non religious, traditional, spiritual or contemporary?
* what type of service e.g crematorium, burial or memorial?
* how many songs would you like played?
* would you like readings, prayers and/or poetry included?
* what entrance music and exit music would you like?
* would you like me to write the eulogy or will a family member do it?
* dress code
* photographer
* live web-stream service

I have a form that I will fill in with all the key information and I will inform you of particular details I will need before we meet. I will then confirm everything with you in writing and liaise with the funeral directors and get the Order of Service off to print (you can do this yourself if you prefer).

Step Three
If I am writing the Eulogy, I will get a draft over to you for checking and then produce a script for the day. Everything has to be timed to perfection as the crematorium has specific time allocations (usually around 20-30 minutes). They will organise the music, unless there is something unique, and you can bring that with you. I have a long list of recommended music plus a large library of poetry, and will advise and help wherever I can. Some crematoriums are able to live-stream the service for those who are unable to be there.
We will keep liaising until you are happy with everything.... then I will see you on the day. I will support you through the service until it is time to leave. This is a very tough day for you and will do all that I can to make it go as smoothly as possible so you can say goodbye in the way that you wish.
"If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together, there is something you must always remember....
You are braver than you believe, stronger than you feel, and smarter than you think.
But the most important thing is, even if we are apart, I'll always be with you."
